Computer Returned

Last Saturday I had some good news via a visit from the police. As my regular reader will know, after finding some images on the internet that appeared to be child pornography, I had called the police. As well as other information I had been able to garner, I showed them the website. There response was to arrest me and seize my computer.

They were telling me that they were returning my computer, as well as the mobile phone and the pen drives. Quite simply as nothing was found. Further the charge was dropped.

The Irony was not lost on me that on thee Monday they returned my property, the Software I needed for the new computer arrived. So I have ended up with two computers, three if I include the laptop.

While I am glad that the matter is now over, the way the police handled the matter is quite disturbing. I have spoken to a couple of journalists regarding the matter and I understand that arresting anyone reporting such material is routine. As this enables them to examine computers and to take DNA samples. In Britain that is held for life, even though the European Court of Human Rights have ruled that unlawful. However the aspect that is most disturbing is that the polices actions appear to have enabled other more serious crimes and the criminals to go unpunished.

To quote one of journalists; “It looks as though the police were protecting the real criminals”.

The only other aspect of this matter that I will comment on here, for the moment, is that on the Monday that the police returned my property, my cat who had suffered a mysterious injury that I only discovered after I had been released, took one look at the police and fled in terror. For an old cat she can still move very fast.

Lastly on this matter, I understand that it is very unusual for the police to bring property back. Normally you have to collect it. Therefore this matter now comes to a close. As I understand it costs three thousand pounds to examine a computer, I just wish that money had been spent on real crime and not wasted as it was. After all I called the police in to report the crime.

However, with all the problems that I had with the new computer, and my need to rebuild it. I have now got very close to having a computer that is perfect for my needs. It is a shame that I lost so much work when the new one failed. Now with my old one back too I can start to sort out some of the work.

I am quite glad that the weather forecast is not good, as I can concentrate upon what I need to do without the pull of the sun drawing me out to seek adventures in the woods. But once I get this all properly sorted and ensure that my back ups are backed up, I can bore you all with more wildlife.

Is that Ms. Trouble? What a great picture! Has she always had that discoloration in her eye? Tree

Hi Ms Tree, yes this is Trouble!

The mark in her eye is where she was injured by the police. Its where she had bleeding in the eye from being kicked. That is why I am sure that there is no way that the injury was accidental.
